The AARP says that on average someone born in 1971 will live to be 70. I'm halfway there, but I feel like my life is just getting started.

Dad Update
My mom called to tell me that my dad made it through the six hour surgery with flying colors. There was no evidence that the cancer had spread beyond the prostate, but we'll know for sure when we get the pathology results.
When I turned 35, I half-jokingly said I'd reached the halfway point of my life. Then I was socked with death and loss for year. It got me thinking...maybe I am halfway to death. Or maybe this is what life is really about?
